Best Practices
In this section, you’ll find the key guidelines and tips for bulk text messaging safely and effectively with Text Blaster Pro.
All Messaging Platforms
- Do not send spam or unsolicited messages. Using Text Blaster Pro to send spam or unsolicited messages is a direct violation of our Terms of Use. If recipients report your number for spam, your messaging platform may suspend your account for several days or even permanently.
- Avoid prohibited content. Do not send messages that include:
- Adult or explicit topics
- Content related to software accounts, such as registration invites or password recovery
- URLs, unless necessary, and never links to sites with financial or adult content
- Respect opt-outs and blocks. Refrain from sending repeated messages to recipients who have blocked your number or expressed a desire to opt out and not receive further messages.
Google Messages and Apple's (Green Bubbles)
- Carrier-based SMS/RCS limits. Google Messages and Apple’s Green Bubbles send texts through your cell phone carrier. Even carriers advertising “unlimited” plans often have effective daily limits. For example, when we contacted three carriers—one in Canada, one in the USA, and one in the UK—they reported effective daily limits of 7,000+, 4,500, and 6,000 SMS, respectively.
- Use safeguards for safe sending. For casual text blasts, the default Safeguard limits are sufficient. If you plan to send higher volumes, confirm your carrier’s daily limit and create a custom Safeguard to match it.
- Use a separate number if needed. If you’re concerned about temporarily losing access to your main phone number, consider using a secondary number for sending bulk texts.
- Keep your messages short. A single SMS can contain up to 160 characters, or up to 70 characters if it includes Unicode characters, such as emojis or non-Latin scripts. Some carriers allow messages longer than 160 characters, while others automatically split them into multiple texts.
WhatsApp and iMessages (Blue Bubbles)
- Follow recommended sending limits. Stick to the recommended sending limits in the default Safeguards for iMessage (Blue Bubbles) and WhatsApp to avoid sending too many messages in a short period of time.
- Create a secondary account if needed. If you prefer not to risk your main account, you can create a new one. Make sure to warm it up and build a positive messaging history before sending bulk messages.
- Personalize at scale. Avoid sending mass messages with identical content to new chats in a short period. Customize your texts to make them unique and conversational. Use CSV uploads to include recipient names or other personalized content.
- Build account history. For iMessage and WhatsApp, account history plays an important role. Brand-new accounts without an established messaging history are more likely to be suspended or rate-limited. Warm up the account and encourage responses to build a good history.
- Encourage responses. Avoid sending large volumes of messages without getting replies. Begin with an introductory message rather than an offer, and ask if recipients are open to receiving future messages. Even a simple “No” counts as a response.
- Avoid newly registered WhatsApp accounts for bulk. Ensure the account has been active and warmed up by messaging friends or regular contacts for a reasonable period before sending mass messages.
